Obituary of Debra Barnett
Debra J. Barnett, 52, of Waukegan, IL died January 20, 2014 at Highland Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Highwood, IL.
Debra was born April 22, 1961 in Waukegan, IL. She attended Waukegan High School and graduated from College Of Lake County 1996 with a degree in Healthcare Information Technology. She worked as a Medical Records Technician for an small organization. She was a faithful member of Trinity Christian Center in Zion, Illinois under Pastor Tim Eddy. She enjoyed working in the New Members Ministry. Her favorite pass time was being near water relaxing and reading her bible at the Waukegan Harbor. Debra was a fighter and she challenged her opponent Sickle Cell Anemia for 51 years. One of her statements was "I'm going to show these doctors, I'm going to get better and I'm going home". As a Christian and an avid studier of the word of God her final request to go home was to be with our Lord Jesus the Christ.
She was the only child to Clarence and Katrina Barnett. Preceded in death by her father Clarence Barnett she leaves to cherish her memories her loving and caring mother Katrina Barnett (Waukegan, IL), God Mother Iona Mae Woods (Great Lakes, Illinois), God-Daughter Sierra M. Cotton and Best friend Bertha L. Cotton (Volo, Illinois), Special friends Leon and Onmarie (Waukegan, Illinois), Jean Stackhouse (Zion, Illinois), a host of Relatives, Friends and Brother and Sisters in Christ.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Christian Center, 2600 Lewis Ave., Zion, IL. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois, 8100 S. Western Avenue Chicago, IL 60620 would be greatly appreciate.
