Obituary of Marilyn Butz

Marilyn "Lynn" Butz, 75, of Zion, IL, went to be with Our Lord on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at home. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Lynn was born October 14 , 1938, in Waukegan, IL, and married her late husband, Walter, on November 11, 1960. She was a member of Lakeview Church in Zion. Lynn waitressed at many local restaurants and eventually retired from the Gurnee Wal Mart. Many people loved Lynn's ongoing sense of humor and wit. She loved family gatherings, going out with her friends, and vacationing. Lynn was an avid Cub fan and she loved her church family. Survivors include her son, Glenn Butz, of Zion; daughters, Sandra (Tom) Heehler of Winthrop Harbor and Denise (Robert) Rixie of Vermont; grandchildren; Cassandra (Susano) Cervantes and Hannah Butz; great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Brandon Cervantes; sisters, Betty (Don) Benson of California and Beverly Brown of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Jennifer Heehler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Butz in 1988; and parents, Edward and Frances (nee, Krueger) Kingman. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL, with Pastor Les Martin, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Friday, November 29, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to Lakeview Church.
