Obituary of June Erickson

June D. Erickson, 93, of Zion, IL, formerly of Waukegan, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Terrace Nursing Home, Waukegan, IL. June was born March 12, 1920, in Ulen, Minnesota. She formerly attended Wesley Church in Waukegan. She trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young mother and trained her six children up in the ways of the Lord. She was known as Grandma June to the kids in her neighborhood because of her fun-loving spirit. Never one to shy away from adventure, she traveled extensively with her late husband, Clarence "Kelly" Erickson, across the United States. June had many talents, and was an avid painter in her younger years. She was a loyal and trustworthy friend to many. Survivors include her children, Robert (Myrna) Erickson of Oroville, CA, Judith Herrera of Sacramento, CA, Linda Erickson of VA, Margaret (Rod) Venables of VA, and Charles (Betty) Erickson of Beach Park, IL; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Evans of Yakima, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; daughter, Kathleen Erickson; sisters, Helen Hoehner and Lois Nelsen; son-in-law, Raymond Herrera; and father and mother, William and Hannah Fevig. Funeral Services are private for the family. June's final resting place will be with her husband, Clarence, at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville, IL.
