For those unable to attend dad's service, here is a poem I read at the service. It is actually a combination of two poems that I put together in my own way because I felt it summed up what I felt about dad. ..You may have thought I didn't see, Or that I hadn't heard, Life lessons that you taught to me, But I got every word. Perhaps you thought I missed it all, And that we'd grow apart, But Dad, I picked up everything, It's written on my heart. Without you, Dad, I wouldn't be The man I am today; You built a strong foundation No one can take away. I've grown up with your values, And I'm very glad I did; So here's to you, dear father, From your forever grateful kid. The wealth that God had given him, To treasure in his life. Three loving sons, a daughter, And a very special wife. He never had much money, And his life was not a show. But he was still the richest man, That I will ever know. To others he was a simple man, And fame he never had. But he is the greatest man I know, He is who I call Dad
