Mrs Bowie was my 3rd grade teacher at Central Elementary un Zion. At holloween she said she would not be at the class party. We were all disappointed. Then she said her sister-in-law would be haer substitute. At the end of the party turned out to be Mrs Bowie. We were all thrilled she had fooled us. That was 1955 and I still remember. What a classy lady.

When Jeannie would see a gathering at Congdons she would wish there was a sign out in front so she'd know whose funeral it was. I promised I'd rent one for her. Sorry Jeannie. If every life she touched could come to the visitation, we'd have to move to Soldier Field.
Jeannie was beyond a friend. Through her example, testimony, love and perseverance mine was a life touched and changed for eternity. Indirectly, through her daughter, she brought me the greatest earthly loves of my life.
She always had my back and was a faithful prayer partner, when you shared a need, it was prayed for.
Hospitality, salads, ranch dressing, counting out almonds, organizing everything, acting in my crazy skits, laughter and her smile....
These are just a few of the wonderful memories I'll cherish.

We will miss Jean Bowie and the love and wisdom she showered on us. I know many prayer requests made it up to Heaven for so many of her acquaintenances. She recruited my husband Joe and I to be Sunday School teachers and gave us the tools and self confidence we needed despite our hesitancy. She is why I became a teacher. We thank her for making a difference in our lives for all eternity. Blessings to her dear family. May God uphold you with His strong and loving arms, and take away your sadmess. What a glad reunion day that will be. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of one of His saints. Joe and Jackie and Brian Hamlett

I worked with Jean for a number of years as the school secretary at Gurnee Grade School. She was such a kind and caring lady. Your mom taught my son, Chris James, in 5th grade. We lost him at age 49 in 2018 due to cancer. I'm sure they will enjoy reconnecting! Our love, prayers and thoughts are with all of Jean's loving family.
