A few random, but special, memories of Tony that make me smile:
- Tony and the whole crew camping at Skillet Creek
- Tony joyfully running around at "Disco Demolition"... before gashing his knee in the mayhem
- Playing park district softball for Nebel's State Farm, and going for beers afterwards
- Watching Tony and Tim Macki go nuts when the Cubs clinched in 1984
- Taking the long bike rides, even though I couldn't keep up with him
- Going to Lakeview for breakfast after the bars closed
- His love of music. Tony belting out his favorite songs in a very loud, but off-key voice
Tony was a great friend, and the nicest guy you could ever hope to meet. It's been a while since I've hung out with Tony and the old crew, but I've always considered us to be a band of brothers. I will miss my old friend.
My deepest sympathy to the Perez family, his extended family, and all of Tony's close friends. Rest in peace, buddy.
