We have known Eleanor since 1973. She and Rena came home from Africa on furlough and stayed in the house where I lived. It was uplifting listening to her and Rena tell stories of life on the mission field at the lunch table at 2736 and in the meetings. Their humor was an added bonus. In January 2020, while staying in the Faith Homes for three weeks, we had an opportunity to visit with Eleanor at the nursing home. It was a wonderful visit. My husband read to her the story of Ludaniel in Feed My Lambs. Her face lit up as she recalled it. It was so inspiring to hear her fill in the details and answer our questions. It was a very special time with her. She will be missed by so many. We are praying for her family, friends, former coworkers, and especially Rena.

As a young person in the FH I always had to be in church and listen to all the missionaries when they came home on furlough and I have to say that Eleanor was one of my favorite ones . She always had such neat stories to tell from Africa and was very humorous . I appreciated her more and more and did go to Africa to visit with Rena . Was very memorable time . Praying for family and friends .

Eleanor was a great encouragement to me when I went to Africa as a young missionary. I stayed with her at Kaimosi on my way. What a blessing to know her and her passion for Jesus!!!

I met Eleanor when I moved to Zion to attend the Faith Homes. She was always gracious to me and wanted to make sure I was comfortable in my apartment. She faithfully picked me up for church when I needed a ride, and in those short rides to or from church, she always talked about Jesus and encouraged me in the Lord. I enjoyed her missionary stories and how she really loved and prayed for the people, even when she left the mission. I will truly miss her but so blessed to know that she is with the LORD.

We have known Eleanor for years and she was always there for our family, she was an encouragement and a support to us in so many ways...whenever we visited with her or had a question or a concern she pointed us to Jesus and helped us to see how important it is to just trust Him for everything. She faithfully prayed for us and loved us....we're so thankful that the Lord put us into her life for these years-we miss her already but we know that we will see her again and that she is right where she always wanted to be...safe in the arms of Jesus.
