So sorry to hear of Mario's passing. My prayers and condolences for his MaBell family, family and friends.
Worked with Mario at Illinois Bell as a Repair dispatcher and knew him for many years. We were both from Texas, although he never wanted to come back to Texas and I did. He never told me why. He was such a joy to dispatch to...always, happy, and joking around....just a pleasure to know and will be missed dearly on my next trip to Lake County, Illinois. Rest in Peace buddy and see you on the other side.

I worked with Mario for nearly 20 years and was fortunate enough to ride along with him for three months when I began working outside as a telephone technician. I began my career in the phone company as a telephone "0" operator. When I took a position as an outside technician it was Mario who began teaching me the skills needed to do the work I have done for the rest of my working career which I still enjoy today. I still fondly remember the times I spent with Mario who was always patient, kind, friendly and instructive and I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
RIP my friend and enjoy those coffee shops and diners in the sky. (This comment will bring a smile to any old phone tech who shared a cup-of-joe, breakfast, lunch or slice of afternoon pie with Mario during the years.)
