Dear Bill, I was saddened to hear of the death of your dear mother. Just before I came back to Ireland I had heard that she was quite ill but no one anticipated that her passing was so close. Both Peggy and I extend to you and Siobhan, the children, your father, brother and extended family our sincere sympathy and regrets. There are few words that one can find that can in any way alleviate the pain of loosing a mother but we thank God that she had not to endure further terrible pain.
