Obituary of Tyler David Cable

On February 23, 2020, Tyler David Cable went home to Heaven. Tyler was born on November 27, 1993 in Anảpolis, Brazil. Tyler’s hometown was Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. At the time of Tyler’s passing, he was living in Orlando, Florida. Tyler graduated from Zion Benton High School in 2012. His school years were filled with family vacations to Disney World and Devil’s Lake, youth group at Beach Bible Church, trips to Brazil, and epic adventures with his best friends, Trevor, Luc and Nick. Tyler was currently studying at University of Central Florida, studying Business Management and Hospitality. He was blessed to have good friends in Florida and especially the love of his sweet Lilly. They shared a love of movies, books, creative costumes and of course, Disney World. Tyler and Lilly both worked at Disney. Tyler worked in Epcot in their Festivals Branch. Tyler loved his job! In the year that he had worked there, he was given two promotions and the prestigious Quarterly Award for his outstanding attitude and performance. He was told by supervisors that his quick rise was unprecedented. With Tyler’s love of Disney, his work ethic, and his intelligence and creativity, we know Tyler would have done amazing things! The supervisor of Festivals at Epcot, reached out to the family and wrote, “Tyler was Disney through and through. He was a spark at Disney, and was on what would have been a great journey here.” Tyler is dearly loved by his mom and step dad, Kathy and Randy Elrod, and his dad and step mom Jim and Tania Cable. He brought great joy and pride to his grandparents, David Myrum and Peggy Reeves, and Bob and Gay Cable. His aunts and uncles, Karen and Jon Butenuth, Randy and Kim Myrum, Doug and Jeanne Myrum, loved him like he was their own, and will miss him greatly. His cousins, Jake, Isaac, Ellie, Hannah, Ema, Abbey and Eli, will forever remember their cool older cousin who made everything more fun! He was also loved by his step brother and family; Keith & Josie Elrod, Jessica, Cailee and Taylor. He is also survived by his step aunts and uncles; Rita Brewster, Larry& Arlene Elrod, Rick Elrod, Jim Elrod and Linda Wall. Finally, Lilly Barnett and her family, will always love Tyler and remember him as part of their family. Though Tyler’s unexpected death has left so many heartbroken, we take comfort in knowing that Tyler confessed his faith in Jesus Christ and is now experiencing complete peace and joy with his Heavenly Father. Tyler’s faith and personal relationship with Jesus was evident in how he loved and cared for people and in the way he was always quick to be of help. He had the heart of a servant just like his savior. On March 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at The Bridge (former home to Beach Bible Church), 3520 21st Street, Zion, Kathy and Randy Elrod will be honoring and celebrating their son. All who loved Tyler and his family, are welcome. In Memory of Tyler, contributions can be given to benefit Tyler’s cousin Eli at Matthias Academy, a school for special needs kids and adults.
