Obituary of Andrew W. Neargarder

Andrew Neargarder, 74, of Pleasent Prairie, WI passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019.

Andrew was born January 28, 1944 in Highland Park, IL to Henry and Madeline (Crotty) Neargarder.  Andrew served his country in the United States Army earning the Bronze Service Star.  He proudly served 40 years in the Fire Service, retiring as Fire Chief in St. Francis, WI.  He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, he was excited and blessed to have seen the Cubs win the World Series in 2016.

Andrew is survived by his children, Joe Neargarder, Tim (Melissa) Neargarder and Penny (Tom) Hupp; grandchildren, Michael (Kayln), Josh (Hannah), Samantha (Wesley), AJ, Meaghan, Katy and Matthew; and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy; parents, Henry and Madeline; brother, Larry and sister, Nancy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with military honors to follow.  Memorial donations in Andrew’s name may be made to Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin’s Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth.
