Obituary of Kristine Conaway

Kris Conaway, 61, of Zion, IL passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at home.

Kris was born January 11, 1957 in Waukegan, IL to Otto and Erma Turunen.  She was a graduate of Zion Benton Township High School class of 1975 and a member of Trinity United Lutheran Church in Waukegan.  Kris worked for Advance Travel for 23 years and most recently for Warren Township High School.  Together with her first husband Larry Breen, they raised 3 children.  She loved her students, gardening, reading and traveling.  She traveled the world and went on many cruises including visits to Finland, Mexico and New Orleans.  She was very proud of her Finnish/Swedish heritage. 

Kris is survived by her current husband of 18 years, Richard Conaway; daughters, Megan and Carly Breen; mother, Erma; brother, Dwain Turunen; sister, Sue (Steve) Bolton and numerous family and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Otto; son, Bobby Breen; and sister in law, Char Turunen.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Avenue, Waukegan IL 60085 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
