Obituary of LaVerne Hughes

LaVerne G. Hughes, 86, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Clare Bridge Senior Living Center in Kenosha, WI. She was born March 18, 1926 in Chicago, moved to Waukegan in 1968 and has lived in Winthrop Harbor since 1990. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waukegan where she also belonged to the Rebecca Circle. Survivors include her three daughters Claudia (Willem) Dijstelbergen of Leaf River, IL, Paulette (Russel) Mazmanian of Beach Park, IL and Denise (Tom) Van Treeck of Beach Park, IL; nine grandchildren Christa Dijstelbergen, Andrew (Cassandra) Dijstelbergen, Mia (Charles) Rudolph, Nicholas, Jaclyn, and Audrey Mazmanian, Wesley Van Treeck, Corinne (Timothy) Jalove, and Cameron Van Treeck; and two great-grandchildren Johanna and Gretchen Rudolph. She was preceded in death by her husband John Hughes in 2003; one brother Raymond Pieper; and her parents Albert and Gertrude Pieper. Visitation will be Saturday, November 17, 2012, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brad Davik officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. IL. Memorial donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church have been suggested.
