Obituary of Gladys M. Williams

Gladys M. Williams, 91, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on June 18, 2018.

Gladys was born on January 12, 1927 in Borge Creek, WV to Henry and Erna Shea.  On January 27, 1946, she married Ralph Williams in Artie, WV.  She worked for Abbott Labs for 13 years and was a member of Church of God.

Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.  Her greatest pleasures were caring and cooking for family and friends. She liked to fish and competed to catch the most and have bragging rights.  She was a gardener with a green thumb, growing beautiful flowers and vegetables.  She loved playing cards with family and friends.  She loved baseball, go Braves!

Survivors include daughters, Hilda (Jack) Palmer of Hamilton, AL, Hazel Morse and Hannah (Kim) Evans of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Bauer of Lake Huron, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; sons, Harvey and Dean; son-in-law, Dave Morse and 9 siblings.

Visitation will be held at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion.
