Edward L.A. Brown posted a condolence
Tuesday, March 20, 2018
I am sending you this condolence inspite of the possibility that our being related might not be a probability. You see, my mother Jessie Louise Lux Brown, was the daughter of Arthur Lux Senior. Who was a son of Edward and Bertha Lux of Wadsworth. I also have a sister who lives up at the Rainbow Lake Manor Trailer park who has a neighbor by the name of George Lux, whom I had not met. My sincerest and deepest condolences I understand this might be a bit strange, however, not having the information regarding his death before today was unlikely for me to receive. My Great Grandparents, including my Grandfather Arthur were interned at the Millburn Cemetery. I include my phone number ( 815-701-2069 ) Please understand that I mean no one any discomfort in this akward way of contact. But, just the possibility to be connected to some one who could be related to me was well worth the question of finding out. God Bless you. Please understand that is not some sort of rubbish.

George Lux
I met George when he worked for Slipform Specialties Company helping build a monster machine that would squeeze our concrete curb and eventually median barrier wall. A few years later my father hired him as our master mechanic. I got to know George much better as we both attended a training session in Pennsylvania for a Daffin Continuous Mixer we purchased in 1979. My wife and kids were with me and we all shared time together. I got to know him more on a personal level also on other trips to Kansas and Iowa. He became not only a co-worker, but a friend...one you could count on. We had time to talk about each other's family and really get to know each other.
George could operate and fix just about anything mechanical or electrical. He always had equipment new or old ready to be used. Any time we had some large bridge pour I never worried because if anything would go wrong George always had the parts ready to fix it on the spot. All you had to do was ask him how long it might take and get out of his way. You don't know how that eased the stress level on a job. When Matt worked along with George on a large project on the Eisenhower Expressway I could see that George's stress level was eased also. Matt was a big help and they were a great team. It was nice to see father and son working together. You could see the respect they had for each other during that project.
When George retired he left a large hole that could never be filled with just one person. The same confidence during key concrete pours was not there and few times George was available to come back and help which eased the stress level of everyone on the job.
George was more than a co-worker. He was a dear friend. He was one you could count on. He was a good father who cherished his family and grandkids. I was honored to have known him and able to have called him my friend.

Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Praying for peace and comfort in all the memories. Some of the best times I had were camping and the pool parties at your house during the summer when I’d visit Gramdma Iona. Love- Hayley
