Fred Lawrence Draudt 83 March 22, 1934 - February 2, 2018
Fred went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2018, in his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Fred was born in Winthrop Harbor, IL, on March 22, 1934. He graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1952 and married the love of his life, Joanne (Kelly), on Nov 4, 1955 and they had 62 years of love and adventures together. Fred is survived by Joanne, his 3 daughters, Pam Garven (John), Terri Fortin (Larry) and Laurie Wilber (Nick), his grandchildren, David Garven (Ivette), Krista Paredes (Julio), Stephen Fortin (Brianna), Nick Fortin (Samantha), Kyle Wilber, and his great-grandchildren, Jazmin, Christian, and Noah Garven, Logan Fortin, and Zoey Paredes.
Fred served in The United States Army as a sergeant during the Korean War. Fred worked as a machinist supervisor and retired from Baxter International in Round Lake, in 1996 and was also employed as a machinist at Frandsen Brothers, Dill Brothers and John's Manville. Fred was an avid golfer most of his life and really loved golfing with Joanne and friends. Fred was a wonderful and loving husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa/Pepaw.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Draudt and his mother, Anna Marie (Jensen) and is survived by his sisters, Carol Marin (Dino), Linnea Baker (Gene) and his brother Larry Draudt.
There will be a private family service to remember and celebrate Fred's life.
