Obituary of James "Jim" W. Tuohy

James W. “Jim” Tuohy, 81, of Beach Park, IL, died January 23, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

Jim was born July 12, 1936 in Chicago, IL.  He was a 1954 graduate of Tuley High School in Chicago and went on to serve in the United States Army for 2 years.  Jim married Donna Badovinac on November 23, 1957 in Chicago, IL and together they raised 4 children.  He enjoyed coaching little league baseball for Beach Park for 12 years and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan with an extensive collection of baseball cards and sports memorabilia. 

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna Tuohy; children, Kathleen (Jeff) Bartos of Chicago, IL, William Tuohy of Glastonbury, CT, Kevin (Kristen) Tuohy of Kenosha, WI, and Brian (Sarah) Tuohy of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Ryan, Emma, Dylan, and Raquel; sister, Nancy Kuchvalek of West Dundee, IL; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Wright of Goodyear, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Margaret Tuohy; and a sister, Patricia Wright.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan, IL 60087.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Jim's name to Save-a-Pet no-kill animal shelter in Grayslake, IL.
