Obituary of Dennis Wuorenma

Dennis Joseph Wuorenma, 42, of Zion passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan. Dennis was born November 7, 1969 in Waukegan to the late David A. and Nancy A. (nee Bradke) Wuorenma. Dennis had a love of humor, a desire to laugh through any difficult situation and the ability to do so. He was active in any community he chose to be a part of. He coached iceless hockey, soccer, goalball and baseball for his children, attended their plays, dance recitals and concerts, refereed hockey, goalball and soccer, umpired and played in a local softball league, bowled in three bowling leagues, and helped keep Lake County safe by working as a dispatcher for more than 10 years. He will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all of those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his children, Jillian Denise Wuorenma, Joseph Andrew Wuorenma and Jenna Caroline Wuorenma, all of Lindenhurst, IL with their mother, Karen A. Wuorenma; his girlfriend, Jane M. Shinske of Kenosha, WI; two brothers, David W. (Heather) Wuorenma of Evansville, IN and Douglas T. (Tiffany) Wuorenma of Zion, IL; five nephews and nieces, Jason M., Karianne N., Trinity R., Donovan L., and Toivo A. Wuorenma; aunts and uncles Beverly (Charles) Joyce of Waukegan, Ronald (Deborah) Bradke of Spread Eagle, WI, Elaine Shattuck of Wautoma, WI and Janet (William) Wilson of Waukegan; his closest friend, Robert M. Wojnarowski of Zion, IL, and a host of cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Toivo and Marjorie (nee Cary) Wuorenma and Frank and Bonita Bradke and two uncles, Richard L. Wuorenma and Frank J. Bradke. Visitation will be Friday, September 7, 2012, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at Church of St. Patrick, 15000 Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth, IL. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to the family for a Trust Fund to be established for his children
