Being with Aunt Esther was truly a joy. She exuded positivity and a love of life. Lucky me to be one of her nieces; lucky to everyone else who crossed her path and received unconditional love, caring and friendship. wuv wuv Aunt Es. I think of you often...fewer tears...many smiles.

Mrs. Poulsen, as we were taught as neighborhood children to respectfully refer to her, was a delightful woman. Her presence, especially in my mother's life was a special gift. The last time I visited with her was at my mother's house. Esther was a faithful friend to my mother, often being the driver for outings with other friends and they all encouraged and entertained one another. Esther was an every-day contributor to my life as a child in a neighborhood where the children all played together and the adults enjoyed friendship together. It really doesn't seem like that long ago that we children were decorating our wagons and bicycles and parading down the sidewalks, with the mothers photographing us. Life passes quickly, when you're looking back at it. May Esther's legacy bless and encourage all those who loved her as they go forward without her, looking forward to the reunion in heaven.

Esther sings the Moon song to Eli:
I see the moon, the moon sees me
The moon sees somebody I want to see
So, God bless the moon and God bless me
And God bless the 'Somebody' I want to see
I see the moon, the moon sees me
The moon sees somebody I want to see
So, God bless the moon and God bless me
And God bless the 'Somebody' I want to see
So, God bless the moon and God bless me
And God bless the 'Somebody' I want to see
God bless the moon, God bless me
And God bless the 'Somebody' I want to see

My thoughts & prayers are with you all. My mom Lynn Butz & Esther were very good friends. My Mom passed away last November, Esther came to her funeral. Mom was in Heaven welcoming Esther when she arrived. It is so hard to lose your Mother, but we have to remember, some day we will be united with them again. I work at Jewel, Esther was all the time in there looking me up, She will be greatly missed. l

Esther welcomed me as a friend and co-worker in the Archives Committee at our church. We stayed friends even after it disbanded. Visiting with her at Jewel was often a highlight for me. She called me earlier this month and left a message, and each day I was going to call her back, but got derailed. I so wish I had gotten the call in because now I can't.. I miss her very much already, and meant to join you all for her services, but couldn't. So I want to give you my condolences. I know it hurts because you have lost a treasure. Enjoy the wonderful memories you have of her, and be comforted in them. I think she is happy where she is now, so let that comfort you. Take care of yourselves as you work through grieving for her. Sshse would want that.

Esther's train always took us to fun places. No matter what the situation or the circumstance, Es was always ready to BE THERE for whoever needed a perk, a ride, lunch, a bike ride, Septemberfest in Racine, whatever. You could call Es and ask if she could meet you at It's All Good and she'd be there!!!! Es will always be greatly loved and appreciated. She and Johnny were a great team and they opened their lives to all of us who would walk in their door. And, we'd all have a delightful time with them. We miss her so much already.
