Obituary of Clarence Henri

HMCM Clarence R. Henri, U.S. Navy Ret., 70, of Zion, IL, died on Sunday, August 21, 2011, at the James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL. Clarence was born November 19, 1940. in Mellen, WI, and married Christy Gessler on October 8, 1994, at the Great Lakes Naval Base. He retired from the United States Navy after 32 years of service and then worked for the Great Lakes Credit Union for about 15 years. Clarence was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His favorite hobby was woodworking. He was a help to everybody. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Christy Henri; children, Clarence Robert (Kathleen) Henri Jr. of Portland, OR, Philip Henri of Orange Park, FL; Frank Douglas (Kathy) Henri also of Orange Park, FL, Adam Henri of Zion, IL, and William Neuhalfen of Kenosha, WI; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Philip (Mary) Henri of WI, and Charlie (Wilma) Henri of NE; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Madias; brother, Lewis Henri, and his parents. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011, at 10:00a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Interment with military honors will follow at Ft. Sheridan Cemetery, Highwood, IL, Visitation will be Thursday, August 25, 2011, from 6:00-9:00p.m. at the funeral home.
