Obituary of Gerald Robinson

Gerald "Fitch" Robinson, 66, of Zion, IL, died on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Sheridan Health Care Center in Zion. Gerald was born September 19, 1944 in Pascagoula, MS and lived in this area most of his life, first in Kenosha, WI then moving to Zion in 1952. He retired in 1993 after 30 years at Abbott's, all at the lake front site. His passion was 1960's era muscle cars and street drag racing. Survivors include his brother-in-law Larry (Sharlene) Funderburk of Wadsworth, IL; niece Tina (George) Stamoyannos of Wadsworth, IL; nephew Matt (Kimberly) Funderburk of Wadsworth, IL; and grand-nieces and nephews, Theodore and Ana Stamoyannos and Jordan and Rebecca Funderburk. He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Funderburk; and his parents Argus and Vola Robinson. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m., Pastor John Davis officiating. Interment will be later at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Tremont, MS. Memorial donations in Gerald's memory may be made to Catholic Charities Meals on Wheels, c/o Senior Community Services, 671 S.
