Obituary of Larry Mayfield
Larry Mayfield, 66, of Brentwood, TN, formerly of Zion and the Chicago area, died on Monday, December 20, 2010.
Larry was born, June 20, 1944, in Sampson, N.Y. He was a gifted musician who expressed his love of Jesus Christ by using his talents for the Lord's service. Larry was a composer and arranger, a pianist, an organist, a trombonist, an orchestra leader, choir conductor, and music teacher. His legacy will continue through the countless musical compositions and arrangements that church choirs use in their musical worship. Most of all he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and coach.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; children, Tracie Mayfield, Jeffrey (Kristen) Mayfield, Shelley Mayfield, and Jonathan (Grace) Mayfield; grandchildren; Zachary, Austin, Jude and Taylor; brother, Tim (Teddy) Mayfield; sister, Marcia (Mark ) Twadell; sister-in-law, Julie (John) Frye; mother-in-law, Lois Mays
and 13 nieces and nephews and other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Willis and Edith Mayfield.
