I am writing this to try to be a blessing to Larry's family while trying to honor him. Its the year 2020 and I was thinking about this musical we did that Larry wrote called "Can it be?" through our church in 1980. All of the choir was high school kids and i was a senior in high school at the time. Our choir went from 15 people to over 50. We toured 4 states. Some churches had thousands and others the choir was bigger then the congregation- didn't matter to us. One night we were in a small church in Lovelock nevada singing Larry's musical "can it be?" There was a super funny moment in the middle of the musical that caused the whole place and the choir to crack up at my expense but it was funny and you could feel the presence of God show up strong right after that......toward the end the power of God hit the place hard with about 40 people in the audience and almost everyone crammed the stage and gave their lives to the Lord or redeicated their lives to Him. And to my shock 3 people in the choir who had been on this tour for a while and practiced for a year with us said they were not Christians and wanted to accept the Lord so we said the sinners prayer with them. (God knows the heart). As it turns out the church had a lunch scheduled for us the next day and the pastor of the church was not there that night and was really upset he wasn't there but was happy about what had happened. I think about Larry being a part of all those souls that were saved from this tour. When we were done I belive around 75 people or more were saved -only God knows. I was honored to be the narrator through the musical and got to solo one of the songs. All blessings honor and praise to our savior Jesus. 40 years later I am still blessed by the experience. See you in Heaven my brother Larry with all the brothers and sisters that your music help point to the door that Jesus was knocking on. Your music help them open the door to an eternity with our savior. Thank you-scott. Scottcmccall@yahoo.com

My husband, Dr. Paul Nevin, and I send our prayers and condolences to the Mayfield family at this sad time of loss of our dear brother in Christ, Larry. I was a student at MBI the same time he was there and he was already very talented. My husband retired after teaching at Moody for 32 years and we now live in Northbrook, IL. May this time be a time of special reflection of God's commitment to keeping His promises, especially about forgiving us of your sins and of His power of the ressurection!! God bless and comfort each one of you!!
