Obituary of Scott Ewing

Scott Aaron Ewing, 21, of Gurnee passed away Wednesday December 16, 2009 at Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville. He was born on April 11, 1988 in Waukegan, IL. He is survived by his parents Alan and Renee, brother Eric of Gurnee, grandmother Mary Ewing of Winthrop Harbor, grandfather Edward Borre Jr of Winthrop Harbor, aunts and uncles Edward (Kathy) Borre, David (Chris) Borre, Ronald (Maria) Ewing, Douglas Ewing, Borre cousins: Brandon, Ashley, Shannon, Sean, David Jr, Ewing cousins: Jason, Geremy, Kyle, Justin, Jordan, and several very special great aunts and uncles. Scott enjoyed going to arcades to play skeeball, going to Warren Newport Public Library, collecting stickers and videotapes, and playing on his computer. He especially loved Christmas and opening presents. He also enjoyed attending school at Laremont School in Gages Lake. The family would like to say a very special thank you to all of those people who helped Scott to live the life that he did. A very special thank you to Peggy Bogenschutz who gave Scott such a good start in school and a very special thank you to his special teachers at Laremont, Sarah Ives-Brezinski and Tammy Hoeksema, and all of the wonderful staff at Laremont School that have made these last years of Scott's life so enjoyable for him. In lieu of flowers the family is planning on establishing memorials in Scott's name at Laremont School and Warren Newport Public Library. Donations may be made to the family for this purpose or made to Laremont/Sector PTF at Laremont School, the Autism Society of Illinois, the Epilepsy Foundation, or to any charity of one's choosing. Visitation will be Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where a funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be private for the family later.
