Obituary of Steven Brown

Steven A. Brown, 53, of Beach Park, IL, died suddenly on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, surrounded by his family. Steven was born July 1, 1956, in Waukegan and was a 1974 graduate of Waukegan High School. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post #397, North Chicago, and was an active AA member with the Alano Club of Zion. His new life of sobriety began on September 30, 2005. Survivors include daughter, Courtney (Nicholas) Keen of Racine, WI; son, Steve Brown Jr. of Kenosha, WI; mother, Marion Brown of Waukegan, IL; brother, Richard E. (Sally) Brown Jr. of Gurnee, IL; sister, Laura L. (Michael) Vanderwall of Winthrop Harbor, IL; nephew, Richard Brown III; nieces, Vicki K. Brown, and Ashley V. and Alyssa M. Vanderwall; and "adopted son", Jeffrey A. Mohr. Steven is preceded in death by his father, Richard Brown Sr. in 2004. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
