Courtney and Steven, Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. I pray the love of God enfolds you during your difficult times and He helps you heal with the passage of time. May his heart and soul find peace and comfort. Your dad's special friend, Ruby

Courtney & Bubba; I remember when you were both born and how thrilled your dad was. As I watched you grow, so did his love for and pride in you. He may have had his struggles but I know that his love for the two of you never faltered. I wish I could be there for you today, to see you and give you a hug. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Courtney & Steve, Mike, Nick and I were shocked and saddened to learn of your dad's death. I remember all the many, many times Nick spent the night at your home and always felt very comfortable and welcome there. I also remember that he was a very involved father and always attended every sporting or school event that he could to support both of you. I hope that the good memories that you have of your time with him will sustain you during these difficult times. We are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers.

Dear Rick: So sorry to hear that your brother passed away. I remember you talking about him over lunch and thinking how much you cared about his health and happiness. It must be very difficult to lose a close (in age) sibling and someone with whom you shared so much of your life. It is inspiring to me that he was able to overcome his addiction after all his trials and troubles. My thoughts are with you and your family during this time of sadness. I will not be able to attend the service, but please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Your Allstate lunch partner, Carol T.

I was saddened to read about Steve. It has been so many years since we were all active in the American Legion in North Chicago. He always was a bright spot and added so much to the group. May the many memories and the support of your family and friends help you through this difficult time.

Courtney & Bubba, Aunt Jinx, Rick & family: We are so saddened by the news about Steven. It just doesn't seem possible. It seems like it was just yesterday all the cousins were at Grandma Brown's house getting into some kind of trouble. Or that you and Bubba were at my mom and dad's house visiting during the summer. We're happy that we have so many memories of all those times. We love all of you so much and will keep you in our prayers. Love, Janet & Donnie Allen
