Obituary of Don Ostrander

Don Ostrander, 68, of Waukegan, died on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at home. Don was born on March 4, 1941, and was a 1959 graduate of Waukegan Township High School and then a 1963 graduate of Louisiana State University. While at LSU he served as President of the Acacia Fraternity. Don was a former Captain in the United States Air Force. He was retired from the Dynamic Graphics Company, a firm located in Peoria, IL. Don was an avid sports fan. He especially was a backer of all LSU Tigers sports teams. Survivors include four children, Ann Ostrander of Chicago, IL, Jamie (John) Stockton of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Leigh Ostrander of Gurnee, IL, and Matthew Ostrander of Salt Lake City, UT; two grandchildren, Alexis McGruder and Jasmine Stockton; mother, Elinor Ostrander of Waukegan; two brothers, William (Caroline) Ostrander of Crystal Lake, IL, and Patrick (Donna) Ostrander of Winthrop Harbor, IL; and many nieces and nephews and cousins; also surviving is his loving friend and former wife, Judi Smith of Burlington, WI. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ostrander in 2003. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park, IL. Friends may greet the family on Monday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
