It was a great joy to have shared some of life's adventures with Don. As a close neighbor of Don in our early years I shared a lot of time with him. I'm hard pressed to remember when he didn't have a twinkle in his eyes and a fun loving spirit. So, to his family and friends still left behind I assure you that I will treasure my memories of my friend, Don. One of my memories is in sharp contrast to today's electronic means for kids to communicate with each other. Don and I thought it ingenious to stretch a cord over pulleys attached to our parent's homes and send messages back and forth. Jim Brunner

Don was a truly good man. He and I shared many memories of Tewes/Russ's over the past 20 years. I think I was his favorite bartender (person whose ear he could bend the most) for many of those years. I've missed him these past few months. He'll be in my thoughts.
