Obituary of Fred Martin

On Saturday, April 7, 2012, Fred Martin's Guardian Angel came to take his pain and suffering away. Fred was born Jul 22, 1946, in Waukegan, IL, and was a true hero serving with the United States Marines in the Viet Nam War. He worked for over 25 years at International Harvester and 10 years driving a Semi-Truck. Fred enjoyed driving immensely with his last job being with HRIBAR LOGISTICS. . Fred is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tina; 2 sons, Andy Martin and Freddy (Dawn) Martin; 2 grandsons, Garrett and David. Those who cherish him in memory are Jerry (Betty) Martin, Judy (Marv) Nunley, Carol (John) Wensch, Janet (Joe) Duncan, Roy Martin, Dan (Debbie) Fielder, many nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Denise DeVoe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Evelyn (Micky) Martin; sister, Barb Collins; and brother, Glen Martin. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at VFW Post 7448, 1112 Sheridan Rd., Winthrop Harbor, IL, with a luncheon to follow. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 10:00 a.m until the time of service.
