Obituary of Birdine Gilmore

Birdine Gilmore, 75, of Beach Park, IL died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Birdine was born April 23, 1936 in Ruleville, MS. He was married for 38 years to his loving wife, Opal Gilmore. Bert retired from Johns-Manville where he worked for 44 years. He owned Gilmore Repair Service which is still in operation. Nobody ever had anything bad to say about Bert. His friends and family will miss him greatly. He loved his two special girls, "Chloe" and "Sassy". Bert was a member of Beach Community Church and loved his church family very much. Bert & Opal had 5 children, Rick Gilmore (Bill), Dan Heavner, Gail (Jeff) Patterson, Lori (Rich) Mattice, and Kim Parks; 5 grandchildren, Josh (Mandi) Parks, Jaron Parks, Zack Patterson, Riley Mattice, and Sara Heavner; 2 great-grandchildren Bailee and Bently Parks; and 3 sisters Marie, Audrey, and Magdeline. He is preceded in death by his parents John Thomas and Ilabell Gilmore; and siblings Josephine, Levina, Arzina, Jessie Lee, Murray, Opal, and Burley. Visitation will be Thursday, April 12, 2012, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Beach Community Church, 37283 N. Green Bay Road, Beach Park, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13th, at 10:00 a.m. at the church with a lunch following.
