Obituary of David Jones
David L. Jones, 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 6, 2014. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1951 and resided in Waukegan, IL for most of his life.
David graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1969. He worked for Lincolnshire-Prairieview District 103 for over 20 years and retired in 2006.
David enjoyed life and had many endearing qualities. He was loyal, supportive, strong, and determined. He was a story-teller who wove themes of family, history, and humor into beautiful and unforgettable moments. He was an avid card player and enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He loved to watch football and was a devote Packers fan - GO PACKERS! He will be missed tremendously by those close to him.
David is survived by his three children Michelle (Kevin) Vlies of Green Bay, WI, Eric (Sarah) Jones of Volo, IL, and Dana (Michael) Ware of Zion, IL; his former wife and mother of his children, Marie Jones, of Waukegan, IL; three sisters, Jeanne (Lou) Milewski of Boulder Junction, WI, Lori (Paul) Gruenwald of Gresham, OR, and Jan (Wayne) Slusher of Japan; four grandchildren Hannah and Charlotte Vlies, and Grace and Evelyn Jones; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Elsie (Hanson) Jones and grandson Daniel Jones.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099. A funeral service will commence at 7:00 p.m.
