So sorry for your family's loss.Didn't know Mr.Davis long but he did make us laugh with his great humor and talked of his Clara with admiration. He was happy to share his love for music and family, wish there was more time to get to know him.Heaven has welcomed a sincerely wonderful man.

One of about a million... Sneaky children Clara and I were. She was probably about 8 and I 9. We snuck into the chicken house, loaded up our pockets with eggs, and were on our way to do the things children do with eggs. We didn't realize that the squawking chickens had given us away, and Mr. Davis (who was always around) was waiting outside for us. Caught red handed, he sent Clara to her room, and had me wait till she was in the house. I was petrified! He wrapped his mighty arm around me, pulled me in tight, and started talking. "Kelly my boy... do you know what came first... the chicken or the egg?" After about a half hour of lesson and scolding, he told me he was going to have to give me a whoopin'. I braced myself. No smack, just a hug and kiss on the forehead. "You're a good boy, and I've raised you better than this. Stay out of the chicken house."

Size 15 ring.Hand the size of a frying pan. Fingers comparable to bananas. He used to make me thank him for my spankings. I remember saying "thanks" a LOT. I am still salty about it. R.I.P Pops.

When Claire and I were in highschool.. sometimes we would stop by her house.. we were 16 so we were always in a hurry.. Mr. Davis always would stop me to talk to me.. I enjoyed our talks .....before long we would sit together when I came by... Claire would grab the keys and say "Dad we gotta go" and Mr. Davis I could still here his calm wise voice would say.. "Now Clara.. just hang on a minute.. I'm talking to Jackie" Mrs. Davis was there sipping on tea looking so pretty and always moved with such elegance... I looked up to her so much and her presence added to the enjoyment of Mr. Davis' storys.. Claire gave in and I think she enjoyed those times as much as I did.. although at the time when we were 16 we were way to cool to admit it.. Mr. Davis shared so many stories about the railroad and his chickens, and anything he could find to share about his amazing life... The feeling I would get was complete Peace and I felt important to somebody who was so incredible... Thank You Mr. Davis and Mrs. Davis... in case I never told you I will make sure and tell you today and now.. I LOVE YOU...
