Obituary of Charles Mink
Charles E. Mink, 73, passed away on March 8, 2012.
Charles was born July 13, 1938 in Itawamba County, Mississippi. He married Shirley Wood on September 15, 1956 in Fulton, Mississippi and has lived in Zion for the last 52 years. Charles worked for American Concrete for 18 years then worked for and retired in 2005 from Lake Forest Country Day School. Charles loved being outside where he enjoyed gardening. He was a wonderful grandfather who adored his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife, Shirely; children Teresa Ford, Renae (Refugio) Figueroa, and James (Sandy) Mink; grandchildren Vern (Maggie) Ford, Jody Walker, Austin Mink, Daniel and Diana Figueroa; one brother George Mink of Zion; three sisters Lorece White of Mantache, MS, Hazel (Bud) Stephens of Fulton, MS, and Vernell Johnson of Golden, MS; special brother and sister-in-law Jerry (LaRee) Parker; special neighbor Erin Turner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ida Mink; brothers Ollis and Arlis Mink; sister Oneice Daily; and special son-in-law Eric Ford.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home Zion. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
