Obituary of Glen Hassler

Glen Earl Hassler living in Eugene, Oregon, died March 25, 2014 at age 96. He was born in Haynes, North Dakota on September 11, 1917 to Glen E. and Mary A. Hassler. Glen, most frequently called Earl, served in the Navy during WWII. Earl was a retired real estate broker upon moving to Eugene, Oregon from Waukegan, Illinois. On September 3, 1939 Earl married Alice Mae Bordwell in Vinton, Iowa. She preceded him in death on August 4, 1976. In October 1977, Earl married Vivien Arnold. G. Earl is survived by a son, James Hassler of Eugene, Oregon; two sisters, Ellen Fagerland and Evelyn Hagen; 1 biological grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren; plus two stepchildren, three step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 26, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A visitation will take place at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
