Obituary of Antoinette Knodel

Antoinette J. Knodel (nee Fields), 71, of Forreston, IL passed away April 12, 2014 in Zion, IL. Antoinette was born September 30, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. She also resided in Evanston, IL and Waukegan, IL. She was always active in youth sports and scouting activities with her sons. She was an avid fan of Chicago sports teams. Antoinette enjoyed cooking meals from scratch for her family and baking cookies to send over seas to support the military. Antoinette was a loving mother, grandmother who always put her family first. Antoinette is survived by her former husband, Ronald Knodel; seven sons Richard, Gene (Val), Pat (Jonell), Mike (Jeanne), Randy (Patty), Kevin (Sarah), and Jeffrey Knodel; nine grandchildren Shannon, Heather, Hydee, Wesley, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Layla, Hayden Knodel and Megan Shebesta; and siblings Carol (Bill) Thonn, Taum Fields, Patty Fields. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Harold and Eileen Fields, and her sister Marlene Fields. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family.
