Obituary of Marjorie Shinn

Marjorie C. Shinn (nee Fish), 92, of Zion, IL died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 15, 1921 in Spalding, MI and graduated from High School in Hermansville, MI. Marjorie was an active member of Our Lady of Humility Church since 1956. She loved reading her Bible, enjoyed taking her daily walks, and cooking, as well as spending time with her family. Survivors include five daughters Kathleen (James) Bennett of Burlington, WI, Ruth (Jim) Middleton of Loudon, TN, Rosalie (Stephen) Koehler of Oconomowoc, WI, and Sally (Stephen) Cisek and Rita (Dan) Lucy both of Winthrop Harbor, IL; thirteen grandchildren Jim Jr., Jeffrey, Roger, and Keith Bennett, Rhonda Van Dreese, Gary Middleton, MaraLynn Markano, Jason and Matt Koehler, Wendy Beran, Amanda Schutz, Corin Slabaugh, and Caity Lucy; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one brother Raymond Fish of Sheboygan, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Burle in 2001; two infant children; eleven siblings; and her father and mother Napoleon and Clara Fish. Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 12th, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Our Lady of Humility Church has been suggested by the family.
