Obituary of Stanley Peters
Stanley B. Peters, 94, of Waukegan, IL, passed away on March 31, 2014, at the Hospice Alliance, Pleasant Prairie , WI.
He was born November 3, 1919, in Waukegan, IL, and was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy from September of 1941 to October of 1945. Stanley served at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station and in the South Pacific. Mr. Peters worked for the Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad at its Highwood Office for 26 years until its closing in 1963 and had been very active in the North Shore Line Legion Post #753. Upon the Railroads closing he worked for A.S. Hansen, Consulting Actuaries for 22 years until his retirement in April of 1985.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Priscilla (nee Capatani); and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Martha Petruska; sister, Anna; and three brothers, Simon, Charles "Clipo" and Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Most Blessed Trinity Church, 450 Keller Ave., Waukegan, IL. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
