Obituary of Janet Higgins

Janet Ann Higgins, 83, of Antioch, IL, formerly of Waukegan and Zion, IL, died peacefully March 29, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Janet was born September 19, 1930 in Marquette, MI. She was married to Joseph Higgins for 49 wonderful years. She was the president of a light manufacturing company in Zion, IL. Janet is survived by her children, Kathleen (Joseph) Scarpino, Joseph (Margo) Higgins, Pera J. (Michael) Craig, Timothy (Diane) Higgins, and Thomas (Jill) Higgins; grandchildren, Diane, Michael, Julia, Robert, Stefanie, Christina, Joseph, Lauren, Jaclyn, Kaitlyn, and Kyle; 11 great grandchildren; and siblings, Wilbur Ridgeway of Littleton, CO, and Donna Meyer of Petersburg, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Higgins. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL 60099. Friends may greet the family at the church at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
