Our prayers are for your healing and peace. While you mourn, may you also rejoice in knowing that your Mom and Grandmother is at home with our Lord.

Florence and I worked together at Leech-Bridges many years ago. I always remember Florence as a sweet person with a wonderful sense of humor. She and Clayton loved each other very much. I hope you find happiness and peace in your memories; she will be missed.

I remember many evenings spent in the Alshouse living room grading school papers of my primary students. Florence and Clayton would sit with Connie and myself and engage in lighthearted chatter while we both worked away. And then there was the finale' of the evening, a large bowl of buttered popcorn. I never had a more enjoyable time spent grading papers.

I knew Florence and Clayton Alshouse through my school friend Connie, one of their two daughters. Her parents were very hands-on parents, always wanting to know all their girls' friends and frequently having social gatherings with lots of food and fun at their house. I particularly remember the wonderful slumber parties. All through the years, they remembered the names of the girls' friends and Florence fondly reminisced them as well as her own life's friends and her family members; all those she had loved and who played an important part of her life. She even still talked about their sweet pet Mosey, the family cat. She spoke of their beginnings in the same house they built well over 50 years ago and lived in for the rest of their lives. But she also spoke of missing her husband Clayt, who preceded her to heaven and how she wanted to see him, which she knew she would again someday. She frequently sang her favorite song, 'I've Got a Mansion.' Well, now for the last time, she has closed her eyes on earth and opened them in heaven to her new address, where she does have that mansion and is reunited with Clayt and all her loved ones gone before her as well as meeting her Savior face to face. Those spoken wishes she knew she wanted have come to fruition. She will be dearly missed here but we can rejoice in thinking of the memories she leaves, but in knowing where she is and that she is happier now than any human can imagine.

My mom and Florence basically grew up together. She to me was always Tood and I was Cuddles to Tood and Clayt.. Never a harsh word, always a smile and total love. She gave and gave, including her earthly hugs and kisses that I won't ever forget. She gave me and my daughter uncountable lovely memories and I know her spirit lives on in anyone's hearts who knew her. Tears continue to come, yet I will see her again in Heaven one day. She's with the good Lord now and enjoying her heavenly mansion!
