Obituary of Al Fox

Al Fox, 62, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at home. Al was born April 10, 1949 in Waukegan. He was a member of Northpoint Church of Winthrop Harbor. He was employed by Commonwealth Edison for 18 years, had owned and operated Uptown Auto in Zion, and was a salesman for Ramey's Auto for 10 years. Al was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He also loved shooting his guns at the Outdoorsman Range in Winthrop Harbor and he looked forward to babysitting his little Kaia. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Cathy; children Josh Fox of Winthrop Harbor, IL Sherry Fox of Kenosha, WI, James Fox of Waukegan, IL, and Mark (Kim) Fox of McHenry, IL; his favorite companion dog "Bailey"; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings Shelly Dayton of Zion, Barb (John) Shroth of Kenosha, WI, Mary (Ken) Anderson of Winthrop Harbor, IL, George (Corey) Fox of Racine, WI, and Cindy (Dave) McMackin of Kenosha, WI; his father-in-law Jose Betancourt of Zion; brother-in-law Johnny Betancourt of Kenosha, WI; sister-in-law Linda Stratton of Kenosha, WI and Brenda (Jim) Kratovil of Zion, IL; and many nieces and nephews, including Melissa Baldwin who was like a daughter to Al & Cathy. He was preceded in death by an infant son Andy; his father and mother Alfred and Evangeline Fox; his mother-in-law Fay Betancourt; and his brother-in-law Joey Betancourt. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28th, at "High Noon", at the Congdon Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Bycroft Northpoint Church officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park, IL
