Obituary of Rodney Tate

Rodney Tate, 53, of Zion, IL died March 4, 2014 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Rodney was born November 26, 1960 in Zion, IL and spent his life in this area. At the age of 16, Rodney started working at Action Athletic in Zion, and has been there for 37 years. In his free time, Rodney liked to tinker with cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and even coffee makers. He cared most about his family and had a soft spot for his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Tate of Zion, IL; sister, Sandra (Ron) Harlow of Zion, IL; brother, Ronald (Gail) Tate of Beach Park, IL; a host of cousins and one very special cousin, Carol Armstrong of Vina, AL; and many nieces and nephews Rodney was preceded in death by his father, William Tate; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation will be held Monday, March 10, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will be heldTuesday, March 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
