Obituary of Nancy Pataky

Nancy Ruth Pataky (nee Benedict), 81, of Wadsworth, IL passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 20, 2012. Nancy was born August 31, 1930 in Waukegan, IL. She was a past-member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was currently attending St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waukegan. She retired from Great Lakes Naval Base as an executive Secretary. Nancy was Past-President of Waukegan Central School PTA. She also enjoyed attending Rebecca's circle at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church every Tuesday. Nancy will always be remembered for her wonderful uplifting sense of humor, and a quick funny joke. Survivors include her two children Robert (Donna) Pataky of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Betty Orr of Beach Park, IL; three grandchildren Nanette (Dallas) Metz, Danielle (Dewayne) Blair, and Kristin (fiancé aaron Brean) Pataky; two great-grandchildren Torey and Mark; siblings Harvey (Nola) Benedict of Waukegan, IL and Marian (Victor Sr.) Geib of Zion, IL; many nieces and nephews, and her best friend Beth Swoboda of Waukegan, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Pataky; and her parents LaVerne and Elsie Benedict. Visitation will be Thursday, February 23, 2012, from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Additionally there will be a visitation on Friday, February 24th, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3350 N. Delany Rd. Waukegan, IL with Pastor Jeffrey Koth officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Waukegan.
