Obituary of Ralph Peirce
Ralph J. Pierce, 92, of Beach Park, IL, formerly of Mundelein, IL, died on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Rolling Hills Manor, Zion, IL.
Ralph was born March 6, 1921, in Trego, WI, and married Audrey Ball on August 23, 1952. He served with the U.S. Army for 4 years in Europe during World War II, and retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 16 years. During his tenure with the Air Force he also served in the Korean War. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Ralph then went to work for Culligan. Ralph was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He loved to spend summers in the family cabin in Ontario, Canada, where he loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Audrey; son, Ralph W. Pierce of Beach Park, IL; daughter, Karla (Michael) Weber of Zion, IL; grandchildren, Stephanie, Monica, Greta, and Anna; brother, Daryl Pierce of Trego, WI; sister, Ruth Wilson of West Frankfort, IL; many nieces and nephews; and other family.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George Pierce; sister, Jeanne Hammond; brother, Merle Pierce; and father and mother, Ralph and Rose Pierce.
A Memorial Luncheon will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00 pm. at the Illinois Beach Resort and Conference Center, 1 Lake Front Dr., Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to VNC, McHenry Honor Flight Hub, 515 Skyline Dr., Fox River Grove, IL 60021.
