Obituary of Carol Ladewig

Carol Ann (nee Freward) Ladewig, 75, of Beach Park, IL died January 23, 2014 with her family by her side. Carol was born June 28, 1938 in Greenbay, WI but lived most of her life in Waukegan, IL. She attended Waukegan High School and later became a manager at Goldblatts in Waukegan. Carol's family was everything to her, from fixing her kid's bikes to raising 3 grandchildren, she would do anything for them. For 18 years, she also took care of her paraplegic son, Cary. Other than a few favorite T.V. shows, in her free time she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and dominos. She is survived by her children, Debra Makar of FL, and Jack Ladewig of Beach Park, IL; 5 grandchildren, Tara Makar, Cari Ladewig, Jaysen (Rachel) McPherson, Kevin Ladweig, and Amanda (Ryan) Kerkman; Great-granchildren, River, Alyssa, Bella, Carter, and Kennedy; siblings, Beverly, Bonnie, Sandra, Steve, Jeff, and Rick; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Carol was preceded in death by a son, Cary; great-granddaughter, Cassandra; mother, Darlene; father, Bernard, step-father, Charles, and a brother, Randy. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 3:00 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will take place at a later date at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.
