Obituary of Gladys Rytima

Gladys Rytima, 91,of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on December 26, 2013, at home, with her family by her side. Gladys was born October 9, 1922 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and married her late husband, Paul L. Rytima, on May 1, 1945, in Pampa, Texas. She served with the Army Air Corps (later the Air Force) in World War II. Gladys loved spending time with her family, sewing, and she had a love for all animals. She is survived by her children, Linda (Edwin) Johnson of Warren, IL, Jane (Jim) Neal of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Paula Bourland of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Clinton (Diane) Rytima of Garland, TX, Eric (Brenda) Rytima of Benton, TX, and Roger (Arlin) Rytima of Winthrop Harbor, IL; seven grandchildren, Kelly (John) Neal-Wilker, Aaron Neal, Trina (Jimmy) Constas, Tahnee (Matt) Lathrop, Michael Rytima, Paul Rytima, and Tyler Rytima; and seven great-grandchildren, Rowyn, Bryn, Ella, Vasili, Mylos, Lane, and Auborn; sister, Helen (Gene) Albanese of Maine; many nieces and nephews and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rytima on January 4, 2013; and ten siblings. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Save -A-Pet, 31664 N. Fairfield Rd., Grayslake, IL.
