Obituary of Marian Storvik

Marian Elanore Storvik, 92, of Beach Park, died Thursday, November 28, 2013. Marian was born to Nels and Anna Pearson on May 18, 1921 in Leroy, MI and was raised in Chicago, IL. She married Kenneth Storvik on September 28, 1946. They relocated to Waukegan in 1955 and then moved to Beach Park in 1975. She retired in 1982 after 20 years of service from Johns Manville where she worked as a key punch operator and data entry. She faithfully attended and served in many capacities at Immanuel Church of Gurnee from 1955 to 1995 and Grace Missionary Church of Zion from 1995 to present. She was a very caring person who used her gift of hospitality to show her love for the Lord and to serve others. She loved to cook and garden. Marian is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Storvik of Beach Park; sons Ronald (Jill) Storvik and Darrell (Ruth) Storvik; grandchildren Brian (Mary) Storvik, Suzanne (Tim) Leigh, and Nathaniel Storvik; great-grandchildren Jacob Leigh and Bennett Leigh; sister Mildred Larsen, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Nels and Anna Pearson; brothers Sheldon and Walter Pearson; sister Hazel; and grandson Chad Storvik. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Grace Missionary Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Doug Carlson, officiating.
