Obituary of Louise Riggs

Louise M. Riggs, 97, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois died Monday, November 11, 2013 in Zion. Louise was born August 13, 1916 in Humbird, Wisconsin to the late Marie and Carl Aebersold, and married Wendell "Bill" Riggs on August 13, 1936 in Waukegan. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion, and was retired from Nosco Inc. Louise is survived by three daughters, Delores (Gordon) Hodge of Winthrop Harbor, Luanna Shelton of Beach Park, and Kathryn Smith of LaSalle, Ontario; eight grandchildren, Gordon, Garrick (Vicki), and Gregory (Laurie) Hodge, Mark (Toni Ann) Shelton and Tracy (Dru) Taplin, and Rebekah Smith, Sarah (Thomas) Hawkeswood, and Dannion (Shanon) Smith; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and sons-in-law, Tom Shelton and Dan Smith. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation for friends and relatives will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials to either the Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois 60099 or to the Shepherd's Inc., 1805 15th Avenue, Union Grove, Wisconsin 53182 would be appreciated in her memory. She was the best Mom ever!
