Obituary of Clifford Evans
Clifford "Al" Evans, 79, of Port Charlotte, FL died November 5, 2013.
Al was born June 9, 1934 in Waukegan, IL and was raised in Zion, IL. The last 25 years of his life, Al moved to Port Charolette, FL where he was a school bus driver and a certified Lay Minister for First Baptist Church. When Al was 16, he was a truck driver for his dad and then later drove for Colonial Bread where he then became a supervisor. He graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School. While living in Zion, he was a member of Lakeview Church. He became a 32nd degree mason in 1960. He was very dedicated in everything he did, especially to church. He great sense of humor and liked to joke with people.
Al is survived by his 2 children Chris and Alyson; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings Etta Proeber, Phyllis (Ed) Nelson, Janet Hodler, Terry (Sue) Evans, and Dennis (Trudy) Evans; sister-in-law Marlene Evans; a dear friend who was like a brother Ed (Margaret) Townsley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sara; parents Dallas and Dorothy Evans; siblings Virginia (Mitt) Cook, Betty (Art) Chrismas, Dorothy "Peg" (Ed) Hanlon, Dallas Jr. (Helen) Evans, Donald Evans, and Janice "Jay" (Charles) Saylor; and brother-in-laws Ray Proeber and Gene Hodler.
Services were held in Port Charlotte, FL. Memorial donations to American Cancer Society have been suggested.
