Obituary of Rickard Johnson

Rickard D. Johnson, 56, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Rickard was born September 17, 1951 in Waukegan and moved to Winthrop Harbor in 1990. He attended Waukegan schools and graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1969. He was employed at Commonwealth Edison (Exelon) for 31 years, retiring in 2000 as a Senior Corporate Buyer. Rickard enjoyed golfing in the summer and bowling on the Monday night league and he was always ready for a good game of Cribbage. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 and a half years, Suzanne (nee Belanger); his son and daughter, Jared (24) and Whitney (21), both of Winthrop Harbor; his sister, Cicely (Dennis) Desmond of Gurnee; two brothers-in-law, George G. (Debbie) Belanger of Lake Villa, Illinois and John (Sherry) Belanger of Zion; three sisters-in-law, Rosemary Williams of Zion, Jean Caldwell of Florida and Janis (Daniel) Kreul of Winthrop Harbor; his step-mother-in-law, Jean Belanger of Sun City, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarenve "Nick" and Lois Johnson; his mother and father-in-law, Dorothy Belanger and George Belanger; and one niece, Erin Lawler. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, followed by a short concluding service at 7:45 p.m. and private cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family have been suggested.
