Obituary of Thomas Parry

Thomas Parry, 82, of Beach Park, died on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Thomas was born September 7, 1925, in Zion, IL, and married Marlene Wood on October 5, 1951, in Zion. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1943-1946. Thomas was employed as an operating engineer for Union Local #150, retiring in 1989. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marlene Parry; sons, Steven Thomas Parry of Park City, IL, and Dennis (Cindy) Parry of Beach Park, IL; grandchildren, Mindy Parry of Gurnee, IL, Andrea (Nathan) Gass of Libertyville, IL, and Ashleigh Parry of Beach Park, IL; brothers, John Lawson Parry of Kenosha, WI, and James (Doris) Parry of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Ellen Van Arkel of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas and Naomi Parry. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan, Zion, Ill, with Pastor Jon Wiziarde of Christ Community Church, Zion, officiating. Friends may greet the family from 5:30 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
